Figmentic|Words is built with the help of open-source software and third-party services created and maintained by many talented developers and communities. We are grateful for their work. This page acknowledges the major components we rely on and provides the required notices and license information. Each open-source component remains governed by its own license, and nothing on this page modifies, limits, or replaces those licenses. Where a license requires that its terms or copyright notices accompany the software, those terms and notices govern the corresponding component.

1) Overview

The Service combines first-party code written by Figmentic with open-source libraries and managed third-party platforms. In broad terms:

  • Open-source libraries power the user interface, build tooling, and client/server runtime (for example, the web framework, UI components, icons, and fonts described below).
  • Third-party services provide infrastructure and processing — including authentication, database, abuse prevention, analytics, AI generation, email, and forms.
  • Bible text and the Bible data API are provided under the open-source and public-domain terms reproduced in Section 2.

This page is intended to be informational and to satisfy attribution and notice obligations. It does not grant you any rights in the underlying software beyond those provided by the applicable licenses and by our Terms of Use.

2) Bible Data & Scripture Text

Our Service utilizes the Free Use Bible API provided by AO Lab. This API, and the source code behind it, is made available under the MIT License as follows:

If you select or display a Bible translation that is not in the public domain, that translation may be subject to a separate publisher license. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with the applicable license, as described in our Terms of Use.

3) Key Software Libraries

The Service is built on the following major open-source components, each provided under the open-source license noted. License names use the standard SPDX identifiers; the authoritative terms are those of each project's own license file:

  • Radix UI / shadcn-ui — MIT License

This list highlights the most significant components and is not exhaustive. The Service also depends on numerous transitive open-source packages, each governed by its own license. We use these components in accordance with their respective terms, including any required copyright notices and attributions.

4) Third-Party Services

In addition to open-source libraries, the Service integrates managed third-party platforms to provide infrastructure and processing. These services are governed by their providers' own terms and privacy practices, and our use of them is further described in our Privacy Policy:

  • Firebase Authentication — sign-in and session management.
  • Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA Enterprise — abuse prevention and request verification.
  • Cloud Firestore — data storage and persistence.
  • Google Tag Manager / analytics — measurement and performance insights.
  • Google Vertex AI (Gemini) — AI generation of summaries, themes, and reflections.
  • Stripe — payment processing (for any future paid tiers).
  • Mailchimp — email and marketing communications.
  • Formspree — contact, feedback, and account-deletion request forms.

Google, Firebase, Vertex AI, Gemini, Stripe, Mailchimp, Formspree, and other names referenced above are trademarks of their respective owners. These services are used under their respective terms; they are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, Figmentic|Words.

5) Full License Texts

The complete license texts and copyright notices for the open-source components above — and for the transitive dependencies bundled with the Service — are available on request. To request a copy of the full license texts for any or all dependencies, email legal@figmentic.com and we will provide them. We aim to honor every attribution and notice requirement contained in these licenses; if you believe a required notice is missing or incorrect, please let us know and we will promptly correct it.

6) Trademarks

"Figmentic," "Figmentic|Words," and related names, logos, and brand features are trademarks of Xruseon, Inc., doing business as Figmentic, Inc. All other product names, logos, brands, and trademarks referenced on this page or within the Service are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and attribution purposes only. Reference to any third-party trademark, library, or service does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by that third party, and the open-source licenses referenced above do not grant any trademark rights.

7) Changes to These Notices

As the Service evolves, the open-source components and third-party services we rely on may change. We may update these notices from time to time to reflect added, removed, or updated dependencies. The "Effective Date" above indicates when this version took effect.
